Finding the Perfect Ab Workout

I've been researching abs lately and came up with this theory...

Ok, so you just finished reading through your favorite magazine and read about a great new plan for getting killer abs.  Chances are, it is doomed to fail!  Truth is,  most people make one of five crucial errors when working on abs.  What are they?  I'm glad you asked!

1.  MOST IMPORTANT is diet.  If you aren't going to work on what you eat, don't bother wasting time with thousands of crunches.  Abs are just muscles - like any others in your body- but they are often hidden behind a large pad of fat, since most men store their extra weight around the middle.  Ever notice how you don't see a lot of guys with six pack abs AND love handles?  That's because it just doesn't work that way.  You gotta eliminate the fat to let the abs show through - simple as that.

2.  Bad form.  Always make sure you are doing exercises properly.  If you are doing things wrong, you might not be working the muscles properly.  Even worse, you can get hurt and that will set back your workout plan even farther.  Be educated before you hit the gym.

3.  Just doing crunches.  I know, crunches are the classic ab exercise.  But if you want to really make some changes in your body, you need to incorporate a variety of exercises to really challenge your system.  Just doing crunches is the very, very, very slow way to do it.  Plus it gets boring.

4.  Just working on abs.  You need a whole-body workout routine.  Sure, you can focus on the abs, but don’t neglect the rest of your body.  This is a prescription for either burnout or injury.

5.  Failure to Start.  One of the biggest causes of failure is simply failure to start.  The longest journey begins with a single step, so put the plan into action.
Now that you know the errors to avoid, it is time for you to get started.  Make sure you have a safe, effective routine - then go for it.

The Best Watch

What most defines an outfit is the added accessories.  It doesn't matter if you are a man or a woman, you need a timepiece that is both reflective of their outfit and their personal style.  So how do you determine the best watch for yourself?

What makes this complicated is that there are so many options available.  You can choose everything from Tag Heuer and Raymond Weil, all the way up to Rolex and JLC.  The first thing to determine is if you want casual, formal or sporty.

A sporty watch, as the name implies, is perfect for times when you are on the go.  These watches are usually waterproof and quite durable. After all, you can't go rock climbing in your shiny new Omega!

The casual watch is extremely popular, because you can use it every day.  Since they often have leather bands, you will want to get both a brown and black band to make sure you have most of your outfits covered.  Brands like Oris and Epos have become popular for producing watches that fit into this category - providing a nice upgrade to the everyday watch, but without breaking the bank.

The high end option is the formal, dressy watch.  This is where you can really spend some cash.  High end models like Franck Muller can go for hundreds, even thousands, of dollars.  The good nows is, most of these high-end watches are very dependable and can be passed down to the next generation - if taken care of.  There is even a healthy used market for many of the high end brands.

The important thing is to choose a watch that not only fits your checkbook, but also your personal style.  If you are not the flashy, showy type - an expensive JLC might not be your speed.  However, if you are wanting to make a splash - there is probably a watch out there that can do the job.
